- Case Studies > Ollie
Ollie is a 16hh Irish Draft X and had feet as wide as dinner plates.

Ollies Near fore when we first met. Ollies bars had folded over and had become part of the thick filled in sole that you can see keeping his fog from the floor. He also has a massive flare and his hooves when we first started were 17cm wide! Same hoof 2 months later. To me the most impressive improvement is that the flare has completely gone. At no point did i thin the wall to achieve this. I simply removed excess material at the quarter which was building up and compacting to become the flare. This compacted material was keeping his in hoof "weight baring" phase of movement. It was unable to contract during the flight phase and so the hoof just became wider and wider as more material became compacted.
