Horses are born emotionally intelligent geniuses. Their survival as a preyed upon animal dependeds on this fact.
Horses have been on planet earth for 50 million years and are masters of adaptability. Compare this to the dot in time of a 2 million year human history and you might become more interested at what a horse innately ‘knows’.
Up to 93% of all human communication is non verbal. Emotionally fit or wild horses are able to ‘feel’ the intention of any predator from a long distance and are therefore brilliant interpreters of the non-verbal human emotional landscape.
They offer in this sense an exact mirror of our human actions.
Learning to non-coercively connect, communicate and motivate ‘free’ or off line horses requires humans to develop Emotional Intelligence.
Throuhg establishing a respectful connected ‘join up’ with horses, we first have to be in ‘The Zone’ and in touch with our Authentic Self.
This is done by learning how to activate the limbic system; a process of getting out of our heads and into our bodies.
This is the gift of the horse and why many people have them. They have a calming influence.
Only when we are feeling and not thinking do horses naturally connect with us as they do with other members of the herd. The mirrored response of the horse lets us know the level of our success.
