The Natural Gait Complex is a term used by Jaime Jackson to describe the cycle of the hoof as it moves through growth to wear and back to growth again. This cycle is continous and constant. Movement has a beneficial affect on all systems of the horse.
The horses natural state is one of fitness. They have evolved to be on the move. This is what enables the development and mintenance of their hooves. Natural movement is driven by the horses instincts and drives, be they social, survival, or simply the need to eat.
