Being a Natural Hoof Care Practitioner means I trim hooves!
I just trim hooves, I don't shoe horses or prepare hooves for shoeing.
The style of trim I offer is based on the wild free roaming horse and how they wear their hooves themselves as a result of their environment and lifestyle.
We do not change angles or force the hoof into any shape. All changes that occur happen as a result of the horses own healing process and are dictated by the horse.
This is the fundamental difference with this trim. We trust the horses ability to heal.
This method of trimming aims to bridge the gap between natural wear and the lack of it in the domestic horse living in an unnatural setting. This approach over time gives the horse back the hooves that he would have in the wild through the Natural Gait Complex
To learn more about the trim visit the AANHCP page or visit the website www.aanhcp.net
I cover a wide area of the south east of England and trim a wide variety of equines who currently include:
poniesdonkeys (large and small)horses with hoof related problems, laminitis, navicular, thin soles etcarthritic horseshorses with no hoof problems at allhorses with behavioural problems / little handlingrescued / abused horses and ponies (*)horses unable to be shod or that simply don't like being shodhorses and ponies in competitionhappy hackers draft horsesretired horses and those out of work / healing
It is my aim to work at the horses pace. To me the horse is the client. If they need more time to get to know me and build trust then that is what I will do.
I believe that if you invest time at the beginning your save hours in the end plus it's safer.
